Chattanooga Charter School of Excellence (CCSE) Elementary and Middle School Teaching Positions Available

Professor Peter Frost passed along this job posting for the Chattanooga Charter School of Excellence, which is looking for K-6 faculty for its growing program.

Chattanooga Charter School of Excellence (CCSE), located in a dynamic city that is well-known nationally for its scenic beauty and quality of life, seeks candidates for elementary and middle school teaching positions for the 2015-2016 academic term.

CCSE utilizes the Core Knowledge Curriculum; a content-rich and rigorous  liberal arts course of study in which all children are expected to  learn geography,  world and American history, mathematics, science, language arts, art, music, and foreign languages.  CCSE has two campuses and a projected enrollment for 2015-2016 of 430 students. The beginning of the 2015-16 school term marks our 5th year anniversary.  CCSE will be a K-6 grade school as of fall 2015 and will subsequently add a grade a year until we become a K-8 school.   CCSE serves primarily inner city children, features separate gender classes, and classroom teachers are assisted by paraprofessionals and an enthusiastic and dedicated cadre of parent volunteers.

We seek to hire K-6 faculty who are energetic, bright, dedicated, life-long learners with a genuine commitment to the success of all students.  Candidates who receive serious consideration for positions must also demonstrate organizational and classroom management skills as well as sensitivity to the particular educational needs of our students.  Successful candidates for faculty positions must also be good team players in every respect. Interested applicants should be eligible for, or possess, temporary or permanent Tennessee certification for grades K-5, or for grades 6-8 if they are interested for consideration of a middle school position.

We will begin application review in early February 2015. CCSE salaries are competitive with area public school salaries and merit-based.  Interested applicants should email a cover letter and attached resume to info@chattanoogacharter.com
