Inaugural Arch Dalrymple III Lecture: Dr. Odd Arne Westad

The Cold War: A World History

Tuesday, April 11 – 7 p.m. – The Joseph C. Bancroft Conference Room (Croft 107) 

The Croft Institute is proud to host the inaugural Arch Dalrymple III Lecture on Tuesday, April 11, at 7 p.m. in the Joseph C. Bancroft Conference Room (Croft 107). Professor Odd Arne Westad, the S.T. Professor of U.S.-Asia Relations at Harvard University, will speak on the global history of the Cold War, the subject of his forthcoming book. Professor Westad teaches at the Kennedy School of Government and is based at the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation. He won the Bancroft Prize for The Global Cold War: Third World Interventions and the Making of Our Times. The book, which has been translated into fifteen languages, also won a number of other awards. Westad is also the general editor of the three-volume Cambridge History of the Cold War, as well as author of the Penguin History of the World (now in its 6th edition).
