Liberal Arts Summer School Online (LASSO)
The College of Liberal Arts is pleased to announce new online classes for the summer of 2012. Students can choose from classes in almost all general education categories. Classes will be offered during the full summer term (May 30 - July 25) and will be taught completely online by university faculty members. The Liberal Arts Summer School Online (LASSO) will be ideal for students who need flexible summer schedules, especially those who may be away from Oxford but who still wish to take a summer class. This is the perfect opportunity to catch up on your required coursework or to move even closer to on-time graduation. A brief description for each class, including credit hours and registration information, can be found on the LASSO page (PDF).
Croft Alumnus Accepted to Prestigious PhD Program
2011 Croft graduate Matthew Archer was recently accepted to Yale University's PhD program in Environmental Economics. Matthew will be working with Robert Mendelsohn on pollution control, with particular emphasis on developing countries.
Matthew will graduate this summer from the London School of Economics with a Master of Science in Environmental Economics and Climate Change.

Croft Alumnus Accepted to Johns Hopkins University's Dual Master Program
2010 Croft Graduate Colin Reid was recently accepted to Johns Hopkins University's Dual Master Program in Applied Economics and Finance. He will be working toward an MS Degree in Applied Economics and a Graduate Certificate in Investments.

Croft Alumna Accepted to University of Michigan PhD Program
2010 Croft graduate Alecia Waite will begin the PhD program in Economics at the University of Michigan this fall. She hopes to specialize in Environmental Economics and International Economics.
Alecia will graduate this summer from Duke University with a Master of Arts in Economics. She presented and coauthored a paper with Professor Ed Tower at the UN ESCAP ArtNet conference in Bangkok, Thailand last summer. Her paper dealt with manufacturing protectionism and economic growth.

Croft Graduate Patrick Woodyard, Founder of Nisolo, Speaks at Clinton School of Public Service
Croft graduate Patrick Woodyard (BA 2010) recently spoke at the Clinton School of Public Service in Arkansas. The founder of Nisolo Shoes, Patrick talked about how Nisolo works to empower shoemakers in northern Peru.
Croft Junior Receives Prestigious Study Abroad Scholarship
Martina Cotelo was recently awarded the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) study abroad scholarship. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is a publicly-funded independent organization of higher education institutions in Germany. Each year DAAD, its Regional Branch Offices, its Information Centers, and DAAD Professors around the globe provide information and financial support to over 67,000 highly-qualified students and faculty for international research and study.
Martina will spend the next spring semester studying in Potsdam, Germany.
