Croft students must maintain a cumulative, resident GPA of 3.0 or higher to remain in the international studies major past their sophomore year. The resident GPA includes all courses a student takes at the University of Mississippi.
During the first week of classes of each spring semester, the Croft Institute will review the cumulative resident GPA of all sophomores in the major. Students with a cumulative resident GPA below 3.0 will be informed in person that they cannot continue their studies in the Croft Institute/international studies major upon completion of that semester. These students may petition in writing to appeal the Institute's decision. The Institute will review appeals by forming a review panel. The panel will make its decision before spring break, and may reject the petition or specify in writing the conditions under which the student may continue in the major after completion of the current semester.
