The most important aspect of Croft for my professional development was learning research and methods skills, and writing an original thesis that provided me with a strong foundation for a career in academia. The close relationships I developed with my professors and thesis advisors also inspired me to become a professor myself, and work in an environment where small classes and rigorous academic development are valued.
